Frequently asked questions

Hopefully this page will answer all your questions about Windermere Cattery, but if not just give us a ring. We’ll be happy to help.

Q: Can I come and view the cattery?
A: You are welcome to come and view the cattery at anytime during opening hours.

Q: My cat’s vaccinations aren’t up to date / my cat hasn’t been vaccinated, what can I do?
A: Your cat must be fully vaccinated at least 2 weeks prior to boarding.

Q: Do you provide a pick up and drop off service?
A: We certainly do. The charge is £6 for the first 3 mile, and 70p for each additional mile. Mileage is calculated on a ’round trip’ basis.

Q: Do you have any outdoor chalets?
A: All of our chalets are indoors, heated in winter and air conditioned in summer, ensuring your cats are comfortable.

Q: Can I supply the food for my cat?
A: If your cat is on a prescription diet, you’ll need to provide that for us. Otherwise, we stock all premium cat food brands, so you don’t need to worry. We’ll ask for your cat’s dietary preferences when you make a booking.

Q: My cat is on medication, is there a charge to administer this?
A: We are happy to administer any medication at no extra charge.

Q: Are you happy to board a diabetic cat?
A: Unfortunately we cannot board any cat requiring injections.

Q: I have 2 cats. Can they share a chalet?
A: Yes! We wouldn’t dream of splitting them. In fact, we have chalets that can hold a family of three and even four cats.

Q: Do you require a deposit to secure a booking?
A: Yes. A 20%  deposit is required to secure the chalet(s). Please remember if your booking dates need to change, please notify us as soon as you can.

Q: Can I bring a blanket/toys to help my cat to settle in?
A: Yes, of course. If it’s important to you, then it is to us. We will be happy to Whatsapp or send you an email/text too, letting you know how your cat is settling in.

Q: Does my cat need to be neutered?

A: All male cats over 6 months old must be neutered prior to boarding.
